Full board dining — from morning coffee delivered to your tent before the drive, to dinner under a sky that has no competition.
“What’s a safari without the warmth of genuine hospitality? We treat every guest like family.”
At Enkoropil, mealtimes are not scheduled interruptions to the safari experience — they are woven into it. Breakfast before the dawn drive, warm and quick. A full lunch back at camp when the midday heat settles in. Dinner after the evening drive, when stories need somewhere to land.
Our kitchen works with what is fresh, what is local, and what our guests genuinely want to eat. Every dietary requirement is accommodated with care, not reluctance. If you have a preference, a restriction, or simply a dish you have been thinking about — tell us the day before and it will be ready.

“The best meal of your safari will probably be the one you didn’t expect.”
Our kitchen sources locally — Nile perch from the lake, seasonal vegetables, fresh bread baked daily. The menu changes to reflect what is available and what guests have been asking for. There is no fixed menu printed on a card.
On special occasions — birthdays, anniversaries, honeymoons — the kitchen will go further. A private dinner on the veranda, a custom cake, a bottle of champagne at the river at sunset. Ask us and we will see what we can do.
Plan a Special OccasionOur kitchen accommodates dietary requirements without compromise. You will not be given a reduced plate or a side salad where everyone else has a main course. Tell us what you need and we will cook for it properly.
Full vegetarian menus available for every meal. Substantial, flavourful, and built around the same quality as the full menu.
Fully plant-based options across all meals. Let us know on booking and the kitchen will plan your menus from arrival.
Gluten-free preparation available throughout. We take cross-contamination seriously — please advise us of any severity at booking.
East African cuisine is one of the most underrepresented in the world of high-end travel. At Enkoropil, we do not hide it behind European fine dining conventions. Nile perch from the lake. Sukuma wiki with a chef's touch. Nyama choma when the evening calls for it.
Guests who arrive expecting generic safari food tend to leave with a new appreciation for what Kenyan cooking can be when someone takes the time to do it properly.
Eleven tents, one kitchen, and a team that genuinely cares about what ends up on your plate. Come and eat with us.
